This is where it all begins. We take your sketch, part print, 2D CAD, or 3D CAD data and transform it into a working design. Our design engineers will create a 3D part strip from your data that will be the backbone of the tool. Our process includes multiple design reviews strategically spaced throughout the design stage to ensure that the design is in line with what you envisioned.
We currently have (4) seats of Autodesk Inventor and design all of our tooling in 3D. In addition to Autodesk Inventor, we have (3) seats of Solidworks with the LogoPress add-on. This allows us a huge advantage to designing in 2D and is invaluable in the design of parts with complex geometry. Our software utilizes libraries, repeatable templates, and detailing tools to make our designs consistent. Our designers are proficient in the design of prog dies, blanking dies, hand transfer dies, and the design of special machines.
In addition to designing new tooling we also excel at reverse engineering details. We utilize the output from our Sheffield RS50 CMM machine to generate a 3D model of the detail. From here we can create a detailed print and provide your data in a number of different CAD formats.
